BEATRIX FARRAND'S AMERICAN LANDSCAPES

Beatrix Farrand believed that gardens have the power to transform people’s lives. One of the pioneering women of the early 20th century was not a campaigner for women’s suffrage, a writer, or a social reformer, but a landscape architect. BEATRIX FARRAND'S AMERICAN LANDSCAPES (1x60) tells the story of this ambitious and accomplished woman, who opened her first office in 1896 at the age of 24, on the third floor of her mother's brownstone. Her work was eventually sought after by America’s wealthiest families, including the Rockefellers and the Morgans; by Ivy League universities, botanical gardens, and municipalities; and even the White House.

BEATRIX FARRAND'S AMERICAN LANDSCAPES (1x60) released from PBS Plus on June 15, 2020.
