Who doesn’t love the sound of the old wooden floors of a hardware store? Or the warmth and smile from someone behind the counter who knows your name? That small town, big nostalgia feeling is just what photographer Mike Lassiter was looking for.

Winding his way through the dusty two-lanes of the South, Lassiter captures the stories of historical, often family-run businesses: the barber shops, pharmacies, and landmark hardware stores and soda fountains that have long lined the main streets of American towns. Hear from owners, customers, and employees - generations new and old -  as they share the importance and resonance of these special places.
